The University of Konstanz is one of the 11 universities of excellence in Germany and strives for international visibility, dialogue with the public, knowledge transfer and regional anchoring.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are important building blocks for achieving these goals. Top scientific research and the promotion of young talent in an internationally competitive context are hardly possible without systematic diversity management.
We conducted a series of awareness-raising workshops for the University of Konstanz, which touched on different fields of action in the university context: from bias in teaching and bias in appointment committees to diversity-sensitive advice for students and bias in selection processes, we designed application-related training courses that were embedded in theoretical frameworks.
The scientifically sound approach of factor-D was exactly the right way for us to place the topic at our university and to sensitize our members to the problems.
